中國古時的禮樂器具有特殊意義，只在祭祀、典禮、盛宴或陪葬時用，更是權力的象徵，因此其歷史價值極高。故宮博物院收藏青銅器約一萬餘件，大部分為清宮舊藏。本卷精選商代至戰國具有代表性的青銅禮樂器201套，既顯示中國青銅時代的政治、經濟制度，同時也反映出當時物質文化和科學技術發展。 Specimens mentioned in the album had been traditionally handed down as ritual articles kept in the Ming-Qing Imperial palace. Many of them are recorded in the Xi Qing collection of Ancient Bornzes (1749). Bornzes handed down otherwise or excavated are generally no match for them.
